Tony and Lynn Worsfold founded Concrete Plus in Christchurch – born out of Tony’s years as South Island Distributor for Fraser Brown & Stratmore, at a time when decorative concrete was barely on anyone’s radar in New Zealand. They built the business into something worth wanting, and when an Australian Multi National Company came knocking with an offer to buy, he took it. Smart move. It freed him up to focus on what he’d come to love most: the contracting side of things.

Tony and Lynn returned to Ashburton – where they’d both grown up – and started Paveco Ashburton Ltd. Concrete Plus was sold, and a new chapter began. Tony quickly became the person everyone in Mid Canterbury called when they needed concrete done properly. He was simply known as the concrete man.

Tony and Lynn remain directors, but day-to-day the business is run by their General Manager Martyn Wheeler and their daughter Katie – both of whom have been with Paveco for close to 18 years. The team of around 9–10 experienced concrete placers continues the same standards that made Paveco’s name.
